Frequently
Asked Questions

Here you'll find answers to the most common questions about traveling with Tailored Argentina. If you need anything else, we're always here to help.

Planning & Pricing

We recommend planning 4–6 months in advance to secure the best availability at our partner lodges and exclusive experiences. While we can organize last-minute trips, many of the luxury properties we work with have very limited rooms — and early planning ensures you get first pick of Argentina's finest stays, smooth flight connections, and seamless private transfers.

Since every itinerary we design is fully customized, pricing varies — but as a guideline, most travelers can expect: Tailored Boutique Trips from USD 550 per person per night; Tailored Luxury Trips from USD 850 per person per night. Your final cost depends on season, destinations, accommodation style, and the type of private experiences you choose. Because we're based in Argentina, we work directly with our partners and can secure exclusive rates and experiences — with no service fee for our planning.

We only design fully customized itineraries — no fixed packages, templates, or pre-set tours. Every journey starts from scratch and is shaped around your interests, travel style, and timing. You'll receive an initial itinerary to review, refine, and personalize with us until it feels 100% yours. All trips include private transfers, exclusive experiences, and 24/7 assistance from Tailored Argentina's founders.

No — we don't charge a service or design fee. Unlike many agencies, we want you to see the value of our work first. We trust 100% in the quality of the trips we create, and we believe that once you review your customized initial itinerary, you'll feel confident choosing us to plan your journey.

There's no single "best" time — it depends on where you want to go. Argentina spans multiple climates, so each region shines in different seasons. Patagonia: October–April; Mendoza & Wine Country: March–May (harvest) and September–November; Buenos Aires: September–April; Northern Argentina: April–November; Iguazú Falls: March–May or September–November. We design every itinerary around the season that best matches your travel goals.

Our cancellation policy is fully customized, just like our trips. Because we work with exclusive lodges and partners across Argentina and South America—each with their own terms—your specific conditions will depend on the properties, dates, and experiences included in your itinerary. What you can expect: We always negotiate the most flexible terms available. In many cases, trips can be rescheduled if requested far enough in advance. We require travelers to have comprehensive travel insurance for added protection. Once your itinerary is finalized, we'll provide a clear breakdown of the exact cancellation and refund terms for your trip.

Most travelers — including those from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., the EU, Australia, and New Zealand — do not need a visa to visit Argentina for up to 90 days. You only need a valid passport (with at least six months remaining), proof of return or onward travel, and your accommodation details. If your nationality does require a visa, you'll need to apply in advance through an Argentine consulate.

Solo Travel in Argentina

Yes. Argentina is considered one of the safest countries in South America for solo travelers, especially when itineraries are designed with local insight. We carefully select destinations, accommodations, and guides to ensure comfort and peace of mind.

Not always — by design. We include private guides when they truly enhance the experience, and leave space for independent exploration where it feels natural and enjoyable.

Absolutely. Many of our solo travelers are women traveling alone. We design journeys with attention to comfort, safety, pacing, and accommodation style.

Yes. Flexibility is built into our itineraries. Solo travel often evolves as the journey unfolds — and we adapt with you.

We prioritize boutique, owner-run hotels and secluded lodges where solo travelers feel welcomed, comfortable, and at ease — never anonymous.

We handle logistics, timing, availability, flight check-ins and local coordination — while you keep the freedom. Many of the most special places in Argentina require local relationships to access properly.

Eco-Travel in Argentina

Eco-travel in Argentina focuses on exploring the country's natural landscapes, wildlife, and ecosystems while actively supporting conservation efforts, local communities, and low-impact tourism practices. Rather than fast-paced sightseeing, eco-travel prioritizes meaningful exploration, education, and respect for nature. Argentina offers exceptional eco-travel opportunities, from the wetlands of Iberá and the wildlife-rich Peninsula Valdés to the rainforests of Iguazú and the sub-Antarctic ecosystems of Tierra del Fuego.

At Tailored Argentina, sustainability is not a trend — it's a guiding principle. Every itinerary is designed with environmental impact, timing, and partner selection in mind. We work exclusively with accommodations and activity partners who: Protect local flora and fauna; Support conservation and rewilding initiatives; Operate on a small scale, avoiding mass tourism; Engage and employ local communities. Our role is to connect travelers with places that are doing things right, while ensuring comfort, safety, and seamless logistics.

Eco-focused itineraries are centered around discovery rather than consumption. These journeys emphasize: Time in protected natural areas; Guided experiences led by local experts and naturalists; Learning about ecosystems, wildlife behavior, and conservation efforts; Staying in accommodations that operate responsibly and intentionally. The result is a slower, deeper, and more rewarding travel experience.

We collaborate with some of the most respected sustainability-driven partners in Argentina, including: Pristine Camps (El Calafate, Iguazú & Salinas Grandes): pioneers of low-impact luxury, deeply connected to local communities and landscapes; Rincón del Socorro (Esteros del Iberá): a benchmark in rewilding, conservation tourism, and wildlife restoration; Estancia Rincón Chico (Península Valdés): a private estancia committed to marine and land wildlife preservation; Awasi Iguazú: an all-villa lodge operating within the Atlantic rainforest with strict environmental standards; Tierra de Leyendas (Ushuaia): a boutique, owner-run hotel with a strong zero-waste philosophy and thoughtful hospitality practices. Each partner is chosen not only for comfort and exclusivity, but for shared values.

Absolutely. Eco-travel and luxury are not opposites. In Argentina, eco-luxury is defined by: Privacy and seclusion; Owner-run lodges with personalized service; Exclusive access to protected landscapes; Quiet, intentional experiences away from crowds. True luxury lies in space, silence, knowledge, and connection — all core elements of eco-travel.

Eco-travel journeys start with a conversation. We design each itinerary from scratch, based on: Your interests in nature and wildlife; Desired pace and comfort level; Time of year and regional conditions; Conservation-focused experiences you'd like to prioritize. From there, we build a journey that reflects both your values and Argentina's extraordinary natural heritage.
